Welcome to my day home!!
My name is Tammy Palmer and caring for children has been both my profession and my passion for 22 years with Odyssey Childcare. I bring with me not only years of hands-on experience, but also a deep love for family, and the joy that comes from watching children grow and thrive.
Family has always been at the heart of who I am. I bring not only my training and knowledge of early childhood development, but also practical wisdom of raising a large family. I am a proud mother of three, and a stepmother of three and a grandma of 10 wonderful grandchildren. This BIG, loving family have given me years of real-life experience, patience and understanding that I carry into the care I provide every day.
My home is located on the back side of Legacy Ridge. Our backyard is one of the best parts of our day home in the summertime. It’s a place where my day home children can feel safe, valued, and encouraged. With plenty of room for outdoor games, and bouncy castles, riding toys, and group activities. The kids enjoy staying active and burning off energy in the fresh air. We spend time playing outdoors, exploring nature, and making the most of every day. We even grow our own fresh garden for snacks. Whether it’s a pizza Friday and we eat on the grass, water play to keep cool, or simply laughing together during outdoor adventures, our backyard becomes a place full of fun, friendships, and happy memories. I strive to create an environment that incorporates both structure and play. Helping children learn, grow, and develop important life skills, while having fun. Whether it’s through creative play or quiet time learning, I aim to nurture each child’s unique personality, and interest.
I have my first aid and child CPR, current criminal record check. I have taken several workshops and courses related to the field of Early Childhood Education. I participate in workshops and courses throughout the year to keep up to date on early childhood education practices and policies.
After more than two decades with Odyssey Childcare, I am very proud of the relationships I build with the families and the owners, and the trust they place in me. I believe that strong communication and trust with families, are the foundation of quality care.
